The Petit Palais, built for the 1900 World's Fair, houses the fine arts museum of the City of Paris around a curved garden courtyard. Its free collection ranges from antiquity through Dutch and Flemish painting to nineteenth-century French art. The Beaux-Arts building is itself among the exhibits.
