Peggy Guggenheim Collection

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection occupies the heiress and collector's own home, the low Palazzo Venier dei Leoni on the Grand Canal. It gathers a sharp selection of twentieth-century art, with Pollock, Picasso, Ernst, and Magritte, in rooms opening onto a sculpture garden. Marini's bronze horseman, the Angel of the City, faces the canal from the terrace.
