London
Tate Modern occupies the former Bankside Power Station on the south bank of the Thames, its turbine hall converted into a vast space for monumental commissions. The collection of international modern and contemporary art is shown in free, themed displays across several levels. A viewing level on the Blavatnik extension looks back across the river to St Paul's.
