Hampton Court Palace, on the Thames upstream of London, combines Cardinal Wolsey's Tudor palace with a Baroque range built for William and Mary. Henry VIII's Great Hall, the Tudor kitchens, and the haunted gallery survive alongside formal gardens and a famous maze. Costumed interpretation and the King's and Queen's apartments fill the visit.
